    Cina-fied

Its comical how everyone around me tells me how TARC has made me go 'Cina-fied' aka Lala.

Haha, in a way yes but nah, not in totality thats for sure. Many things still remain ...hmm.. simply jz jen.

It's funny how ppl have their own perspective on Tarc, but what can I say, after all, everyone is subject to their own opinions. I'm not exempted from this either. :P

One thing for sure is that my Chinese Language and Cantonese dialect has definitely improved by leaps and bounds thanks to the excessive need to converse in these languages in order for ppl to understand me. Not forgetting my dearest roommate who cant seem to get me whn I am merely speaking in simple English even after having to repeat myself a couple of times. Usually I jz give up and speak in Chinese. And she immediately gets me. eyes wide open* Fancy that.

Besties said that somehow I got Lala-fied in a way. ahaha,... and they cant really accept that. Gay3 being prejudice saying that I even smile like a typical Tarcian. But anyhow, did I mention, she herself is being surrounded by chinese peeps in dear old Utar next door? She can speak in chinese laa. cool yea?

Its rather difficult not to be influence whn it comes to certain things. After all, if it's not directly, its indirectly for sure.

Some things still remained the same, I still cant accept the minor grammatical errors that are so clearly visible in posters, banners, flyers and notices that are all around the college and the hostel premises. It's such a disgrace to make such errors in an educational institution. Dont the SAD actually at least proof read them before approving them?

If such minor errors are often being overlooked, then ppl might get too used to it and eventually forget how it shd be properly sentenced.

At the very same time, who am I to judge? after all, my language is half baked too. It's a continual learning process and it will last for my entire lifetime. :)

Before I end, I would like to express my deep regret that I cant read & write in Chinese. It is definitely to my disadvantage and I'm at the losing end. I seriously enjoy listening to chinese music but honestly, I don't understand a single word due to my inability to grasp its meaning fast enough. I have one less place to work whn it comes to my dream job. A much slimmer chance whn it comes to penetrating the China market in the near future. Handicapped whn it comes to reading menu's that are completely in Chinese and many more..

I admit, it's a crying shame for a Chinese to not know her own mother tongue well enough let alone her main language. I feel so ..... sad whnever I think about it. It's not that I wasn't given a chance to learn it, it's the very fact that I never saw the importance of it until much later in life.

Never too late to still learn it, but somehow it's still different..

I'm not complaining, I'm indeed proud for having spent my primary and secondary life in a national school because I enjoy being surrounded by friends from different races. It's such a joy to see beyond color and creed & understanding the different cultures and backgrds of the various races.

    Afterall, we are Malaysians right?

I don't feel left out at all even if I were to be the only Chinese in the grp/clan/gang. I seriously don't feel the awkwardness.

Last but not least, I am still plain old Jen who is not trying hard to be LALA .. okay? stop saying that I am. Cause I'm far from that whn its comes to my thinking. :)

    Toodles for now peeps :)
